Novel writing takes freelancing to new levels

Recently, I took the steps towards actualizing a life long dream. I started writing the draft to a novel that I intend to have produced into a feature length movie. The transition from book to film opened my mind to all the possibilities in the freelance writing field. It is at that moment that I realized I can do both, novel and script/screenplay writing. I started the quest to understand the total involvement of both fields. I will be sharing this venture on Freelance Review.

Writing a book is an involved task with many aspects that take it from concept to actualization. So just where does a writer start the process once the decision is made to commit to a full length book?

Start by making a list of ideas. Break it all down into categories, topics, titles, phrases and chronology. You will refine this list many times before the novel's completion. Write down all the ideas you have for your book and keep refining the list to expound upon those ideas. Soon you will find yourself writing lines, then pages and before you know it your manuscript will be completed. The final decision you will make is how to publish, which we'll cover in another article.

I've actually simplified this process but I plan to expound more on this topic in future posts. I want to include links to resources and some valuable information as I discover it in my quest. Meanwhile, start brainstorming that novel. We can do this together!
